The idea of this blog started the day the gnomes moved outside to play and my daughter danced in the sun with her eyes closed.
My husband, Noah and I, started to farm on Quadra Island a few years ago while building our home on my parents property. Just a few months ago our good friend, Etienne, joined our ventures and things really started to happen. Unsure of where to begin these daily ongoings I'm starting with what has been going on the last few days.
We moved our sheep to a friends house on the Loop, getting funny stares from people driving by as we walk them down the road, asking us if we where taking our sheep an evening walk. They are in sheep heaven in the rich grass. After finally getting three days of dry weather Noah sheared of our sheep. This was his first time shearing and by the 3rd sheep he was getting pretty good. I won't post a photo of the first sheep. Thank you to Kathy for hosting our herd.
Over the weekend Etienne and Noah started to cut hay,
Lyra was very pleased to pick as many flowers as she wanted, even if she didn't get to drive the tractor.
